Letter to Parents 29 October 2021

Dear Parents / Carers

Parent Consultations

Following discussion with the Directors of the Nursery and our staff, we have determined that we will hold face-to-face meetings for our planned parent consultations which will take place during the next learning block. However, should you have any difficulties in attending a face-to-face meeting or would prefer an online consultation then please speak to Amy or Nicola and they will endeavour to arrange a Zoom meeting.

Parent consultations are an ideal opportunity for you to meet with your child’s key person, to discuss your child’s progress and the targets that they are working towards.

Therefore, we will be holding parent consultations as follows:

Week Beginning 29 November 2021 HEDGEHOGS
Weeks Beginning 6 & 13 December 2021 SQUIRRELS

Letters will be sent out to the Hedgehogs next week and letters will follow for the Squirrels’ week beginning 22 November which will enable you to book a slot. Our goal is to meet with 100% of parents so please ensure that you speak to Amy or Nicola should there be any difficulties in making an appointment either face-to-face or via Zoom.

Buggies / Bikes / Scooters

We have had a number of buggies, bikes and scooters left on site by the Atrium entrance at drop off times. Unfortunately, we simply do not have the facility to store these items whilst your child is at Nursery. Therefore if you bring your child to the Nursery using these items please ensure that you take them with you after dropping your child in to the Nursery.

Once again, thank you in anticipation of your cooperation in ensuring the Health and Safety of the site and the children.

As we move towards the colder weather coughs and colds are becoming more and more prevalent. Should your child come down with a cough or cold then please keep them at home. If a child is deemed too unwell to be at nursery you will be asked to collect and monitor them.
Should you need to administer Calpol / Nurofen to your child before sending them in to nursery then please do not send them in. If they require pain relief then they are not well enough to be in.
With regard to Covid-19, we will continue to operate in the same way and where a child presents with symptoms, you will be required to collect your child and arrange for a Covid-19 test.
Many thanks for your co-operation.

There have been a couple of occasions recently where children have come to nursery in their ‘best’ clothes. This makes it very difficult for children to fully engage in the variety of messy activities on offer and the staff cannot guarantee that the clothing will remain clean. Therefore could we please remind parents that children should come to nursery in clothing and footwear which is appropriate for messy play.

Whilst on the subject of clothing, I would also take this opportunity to remind parents to name all items of clothing (including coats and hats) that your child wears to nursery. This will help to ensure that any items lost in the future can be returned to their owner more easily.

And finally, please ensure that your child comes into the Nursery with at least one complete change of clothes in a backpack or bag. Ideally these will come in on a Monday and go home on a Friday, providing they haven’t been used of course, however I do understand that some children are attached to their back packs in which case they must be brought in daily.

We are delighted to now be able to offer some more choices for the children as part of their lunch time meal. The choices will be:

• Strawberry/Vanilla or Chocolate Ice-Cream
• Raspberry or Orange Jelly
• Flapjack
• Sponge cake with icing and sprinkles
• Fruit Cocktail

Please note that it will not be all of these choices every day, but it will be a couple of the above options on any given day.

All known dietary requirements are catered for, however should you have any questions or queries regarding this change, then please do not hesitate to speak to Nicola in the Nursery Office who will be happy to help.

Primary School Applications

If your child was born between 1 September 2017 and 31 August 2018 they will be due to transfer to primary school in September 2022. Places are not issued automatically and an application must be submitted online to Milton Keynes Council,

The application portal is now live and it is imperative that you apply for your child in good time and before the strict deadline of Saturday 15 January 2022. We had some families last year who missed the deadline and were not allocated a place at TPA. The school currently has a waiting list of 15 children just for Reception so please complete your application ASAP. If you need any assistance with the process then please speak to one of the ladies in the Atrium.

Last Day of Learning Block 3

Finally, we would like to remind you that the last day of Learning Block 3 is Friday 12 November. We close for one week and re-open on Monday 22 November. Nursery holiday dates for 2021-2022 and 2022 – 2023 can be collected from the Atrium or viewed online at

Yours sincerely
