Letter To Parents: 8 February 2017

Dear Parents/Carers

World Book Day – Thursday 1 March

Thursday 1 March is ‘World Book Day’, a celebration to encourage people around the world to enjoy reading activities in a range of ways.

To honour this, the children will be taking part in lots of fun book-related activities during the week commencing Monday 26 February, culminating with a ‘dress up as your favourite book character day’ on Thursday 1 March.

Book Fair

We are pleased to announce that the Book Fair will be with us in Harrison Hall from Thursday 1 March until Tuesday 6 March. The Book Fair will be open for parents and families to visit at the beginning and end of each day. Alternatively, you can send money in with your child and we will help them to choose during the day.

Nursery Feedback Forms

We are always aiming to do our best for the children and families that use Eaton Mill Nursery. We value your feedback on what we are doing well and also on what we could improve on. With this in mind, Nursery Feedback forms are now available in each area of the nursery. Please feel free to complete a form to help us to improve and also to celebrate what we are doing well.

 ‘WOW’ Moments

We are constantly looking at ways in which we can celebrate children’s experiences and that includes their achievements at home. With this in mind, we have our ‘WOW’ Moments display boards in each of the rooms; we encourage all parents to add their child’s ‘wow’ moments from home so that we can share these.

Please find attached some blank ‘WOW’ moment sheets for you to complete and return to us when you would like to share with us something special your child has achieved.

Children’s Bags

We would like to take this opportunity to remind parents that all children should arrive with a bag, clearly labelled with their name, containing a full change of clothes (including socks and underwear) every day that they attend the Nursery. Even if your child is fully toilet-trained we still require a complete set of clothes as children do sometimes get wet or messy through play and we want to ensure that their time spent with us is as comfortable and happy as possible.

The following is a list of other items from home that we request you provide for your child:

  • Nappies (if applicable)
  • Baby Wipes
  • Nappy sacks
  • Sun cream and sun hat / gloves and hat (depending on the current weather conditions)

Any medication your child needs (e.g. asthma inhaler, eczema cream etc.) should NOT be placed in your child’s bag. Medication must be given to a member of staff and a form will need to be completed.

Food and Drink

We would like to take this opportunity to remind parents that children should not bring any food or drinks into the Nursery as there are a number of children who have food allergies and/or intolerances. There is also the potential for a child to choke on food which adults are not aware they have access to.

End of Learning Block 6

Finally, we would like to remind you that the last day of this Learning Block is Friday 9 February. We return to the Nursery on Monday 19 February.

Nursery holiday dates for 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 can be collected from the Atrium or viewed online at www.eatonmillnursery.co.uk

Yours sincerely
